There is a new trailer for an upcoming game called 'Dune Awakening' based on the 'Dune' franchise. The trailer is a cinematic one, not featuring gameplay or in game elements, but instead showing an epic standoff between a man and a giant worm.

The game is supposedly an MMO, where players will be expected to survive and co-exist in the deserts of Arrakis. The game will apparently be mostly survival based, where players will be expected stay alive, and eventually build shelters, communities, and bases. Both environmental challenges, and other player factions will stand in the way. The game is still some time away from releasing, and we will undoubtedly learn more in the future, but in the meantime this trailer and information shows an interesting concept. At the very least there is potential for fans of both the Dune books and movie to explore the deserts of Arrakis in the video game medium.
